Reissued for the first time in pocket format, Atlas des Régions Naturelles Vol.2 is, as its name suggests, the second volume of a singular photographic adventure, as much by its size as by its duration. Begun five years ago, its ambition is to document in equal measure the 450 natural regions or ‘countries’ that make up the French territory.

Starting with these small geographical and cultural entities such as Artois, Morvan or Béarn, Eric Tabuchi and Nelly Monnier patiently and meticulously set out to describe the ways in which we take over the landscape, live in it and shape it. The roads, the houses, the shops, the activities, the typography of the signs, the names of the villages: they track down the invariants, the typical things and the deviations from the norm – which, taken together, define a physiognomy of our lifestyles and our identities.

The Atlas of Natural Regions Vol.2 is made up of 16 chapters, divided into three regions followed by a theme. On 384 pages, more than 650 images tell the story of architecture and its relationship with the landscape.

This pocket edition contains the entire second volume, published in large format.
