The bookshop is delighted to welcome Eugénie Bidaut and Léna Salabert-Triby, members of the Bye Bye Binary collective, with David Le Simple for the launch of issue no. 1 of the magazine Bye Bye Binary published by Surfaces utiles.
Bye Bye Binary is a Franco-Belgian collective that explores new typo-graphic forms adapted to the French language, using inclusive and post-binary language and writing as a starting point, ground for experimentation and subject for research.
The members of Bye Bye Binary set out their intentions for the magazine: to be a place of resources and advice, a space for words and emotions, for exploration, for relationships, for repair, for demonstrating post-binary typography: “Our lives are fragile, like our ligatures, like our fleeting grammars, we don’t know what we’re inventing, but we know that it’s beyond us, that it’s for us and beyond.”
*IMAGE_TEXTE offers invitations to authors, editors, graphic designers, photographers, artists, curators and theorists who take a particular approach to the relationship between image and text in their publishing projects. In the course of these encounters – which take the form of discussions, readings and performances – the aim is to consider the way in which image and text are brought into correspondence, the way in which a text, a word, a typography can in turn become an image.
IMAGE_TEXTE is proposed by Elodie Lecat once a month at the delpire & co bookshop.
