delpire & co is delighted to welcome Olivier Duport and Alan Marzo (FLEE Project) and artist Lina Tsrimova, for a musical performance and the launch of the project “Ulyap Songs: Beyond Circassian Tradition”.
For this fifth opus in the FLEE series, a double sound compilation and a nearly 300-page art book on the subject of the criminal and drinking music of the North Caucasus will be presented, shedding light on traditions as little-known as they are rich, and revealing avant-garde contemporary reinterpretations.
Founded in 2016, the creative platform FLEE is a label, independent publishing house and curatorial platform in one, dedicated to the documentation and artistic reinterpretation of hybrid musical phenomena.
The platform, which champions a transdisciplinary practice, creatively explores and highlights the contours of globalization from a historical and critical perspective. Oscillating between different subjects and disciplines, from music to architecture, the collective pursues an inclusive working method, privileging diverse and varied points of view.
Born in Nalchik (Kabardino-Balkaria, Caucasus), she obtained a Master’s and a Doctorate in History at the EHESS (Paris). At the same time, Lina co-wrote the film Avant que le ciel n’apparaisse with Denis Gheerbrant. In 2022, her feature film La colline, also co-directed with Denis Gheerbrant, was screened at ACID Cannes
