KVM Ø — Design contre-fictionnel

Publication gathering five conference performances, written in French and English, by the Franco-Korean duo of artists and researchers Ju Hyun Lee and Ludovic Burel, whose works combine installations, performances, and publications.

Within their research project KVM—whose post-identity acronym varies with the projects in the Korean Vitra Museum, Korean Vocal Museum, Korean Vernacular Museum, and so on—, they present a critical examination of the status of design. The term applies equally to objects and behaviours, in both the cultural and managerial spheres. Interested in post-colonial issues, in the vein of one of its principal theoreticians, Homi K. Bhabha, they pursue an approach of “mimicry”(“almost the same but not quite”), and “sly civility”.
