Zeichnungen für ein grosses bild

As part of his exhibition at the Ludwig Museum, Wade Guyton has created an artist’s book in which he demonstrates and summarizes his artistic work over 60 double-page spreads in full color.

He visually demonstrates his approach, which often involves using images and excerpts from previously reproduced art books or magazines for his paintings. The pile of images and magazine extracts on the first few pages of this book diminishes as the page is turned. Guyton clearly explains where he found which motifs, why he chose which format. Readers can also discover Wade Guyton’s painting, which, like the book, refers to the basic material and the manufacturing process itself.
